Marije Vogelzang is a Dutch product design turned food designer. When I think of “food design” I think about the world of cooks and foodies which very much focus on the “what” element to eating. Vogelzang is doing something interesting here where she brings our attention to HOW we eat. She recontextualizes food and the level of awareness behind it. She really brings light to the importance of food when you consider our bodies as extraordinary machines that take in food as material. She is redefining food design in a way I’ve never considered before.
